Not Gerrards goal you say? Ok makes sense.

Djibril Cissé's goal in the 2006 FA Cup final meaning that Gerrard scored a wonder goal as a mere consolation.

Looking back at this thread it seems to be Liverpool goals that have prevented us possibly winning all 3 domestic trophies in 1981,1986 & 2006. Always hated those cunts!

Swindon, indeed and don't forget that they stopped us from being in Europe due to Heysel?

They truly are cunts of the top order.

Vic Callow was the ref at Oldham that day

Steady & sand iron.

Damn I had forgotten that!

Have to hold my hands up on that one. I had it in my mind that a Liverpool draw and a Chelsea win would have won them the league but goal difference would still have played a part. Well remembered!

In that case then absolutely it would be Dalglish’s goal against Chelsea as Everton also had the FA Cup final 5 days later.

We only needed Chelsea to draw that day, that would have been the perfect result for us. The point for Liverpool would have put em on 86 points with a better goal difference than Everton. Everton then would had to have beat us by 7 clear goals to win the league, so it would have been all over bar the shouting for Everton. I reckon we would have been far more motivated than Everton if we needed to win to be champions, I really think we had the momentum in the run-in at the time to go there and get the result.

So yeah that Dalglish goal is probably up there with Gerrard’s for me. Heartbroken when the result came through on the radio that day.

I genuinely don't like being reminded of that awful Oldham day, me and a mate had a double of Arsenal to win league 1 and us league 2, we stood to win what was then a lot of money for us. We were on the pitch celebrating at the end when the news come through, it was utter devastation and the walk back to the station was like an out of body experience. Took fucking ages to get over that.

Hackett gave the penalty to Oldham!!!

Warnock was the manager of Notts County on that last day. Definitely a sign of things to come!

The last minute goal ar Oldham
Brought back bad memories I recall being absolutely devastated with the Oldham result
Keith Hackett was the ref at the Oldham game too!!

It was same season as the Gale sending off!!
That ref had a lot to answer for

Leeshere and Swindon - Everton couldn’t have won the title had dalglish not scored the winner at Chelsea. An Everton win would have seen them lose the title to Liverpool on goal difference

I know some like to give out the harsh reality on West Ham in 85/86 but the whole point of West Ham is to dream dreams….so I would of liked the Dalglish goal to have been chalked off as it would have been a winner takes all us as the underdogs away in Merseyside with a fucking great team on our day….just how I’ve always wanted it really….none of this expect to win it bollocks….

Dalglish winner League Cup Final replay Villa Park was behind the goal and gutted watching him chip over Parkes and rolling in.

All the above are good shouts, but Oldhams added time penalty on the last day of the 1991 season which meant we didn't win the 2nd division title.

Of course losing to Notts County at home didn't help our cause.

The trophy even had our name engraved on it when it arrived at Boundary Park

1st thought was Gerrard's one.

the 2001 cup quarter final vs Spurs - lost 3-2
delete either of Rebrov's or the header

i felt we were doomed to glory that year after Man U and Sunderland (its the hope etc etc..)
